Effective 11/2/2026. Last updated 10/22/2026.
WeLove is for adults only. We have zero tolerance for any sexual abuse or exploitation of children. We act on reports and make disclosures required by applicable law.
Our commitment
WeLove's intended minimum age is 18 internationally and 19 for Korea, subject to higher applicable eligibility requirements. We prohibit, and act immediately on, any content or behaviour that sexually abuses, exploits or endangers children ("CSAE" — child sexual abuse and exploitation), including:
- child sexual abuse material of any kind, including drawn, animated or digitally altered material;
- grooming — building contact with a child for sexual purposes;
- sextortion, trafficking, or any sexual solicitation involving a minor;
- sexualised comments, descriptions or role-play involving minors;
Use by anyone below the applicable minimum age is separately prohibited; underage registration alone is not necessarily sexual exploitation.
How we prevent it
- Adults only. Members confirm their date of birth at sign-up[, we use age information from Apple and Google where available to block anyone under 18 (F9)], and our staff review every profile photo and remove accounts that appear to belong to minors.
- No photos of children are permitted on profiles.
- Report from anywhere. Every profile and every conversation has a Report option. Reports involving a possible minor or CSAE are prioritised and reviewed by our staff.
- Immediate removal. Confirmed CSAE content is removed and the account permanently closed. Members below the eligibility age are removed. We delete their information except for specific evidence or records that must lawfully be preserved.
How we respond
- Where the reporting obligation applies, we report facts or circumstances of apparent child sexual abuse material, online enticement and child sex trafficking to NCMEC's CyberTipline, as soon as reasonably possible after obtaining the legally required knowledge. We also use the competent national reporting authority where applicable. A policy violation is not automatically a determination that a statutory reporting threshold is met.
- We restrict public access to abusive material and preserve report-related evidence securely for the legally required period. Where 18 U.S.C. §2258A(h) applies, report contents and required contextual material are preserved for one year after submission, subject to applicable extensions. Routine deletion does not destroy evidence within a preservation duty.
- We cooperate with law enforcement investigating any offence against a child.
- Our response process follows applicable law and store child-safety requirements. We assess the legal validity and scope of requests before disclosure.
