Apart from the face verification described in §2A, we do not use facial recognition. We never use face data to identify you to other members, for advertising, or for anything other than verification and fraud prevention. Payment-card details are handled by the store; we receive purchase records, not your full payment-card details.

Where the law requires a lawful basis, we use the basis applicable to each operation: providing the requested service, a legal obligation, a permitted and assessed legitimate interest, or valid consent. Religious information and international disclosure require the separate analysis in §§3 and 6. This table does not claim that every jurisdiction uses the same legal-basis framework.

2A. Face verification (biometric information)

When you sign up, we ask you to take a short video selfie. Our service provider, Amazon Web Services [confirm F1: Amazon Rekognition], creates a mathematical representation of your facial features (a "face template") from it and compares it with your profile photos[, and checks that a live person is present]. Face templates are biometric information.

Consent. We do this only after you agree on the face verification screen. If you do not agree, [you cannot complete sign-up / you can ask us for a manual review at [email protected] — confirm which].

Use. We use it only to verify your account and prevent fraud. We never sell, lease or trade it, never use it for advertising, and do not allow our provider to use it to train or improve its own services.

Storage. Processed in the United States (AWS US East region).

Retention and destruction. We delete the face template after the comparison and the selfie until the information is not necessary. We keep the result (verified / not verified) and its date while your account is open. In any case, we destroy biometric information no later than when the purpose of collection is satisfied or within 1 year after your last interaction with us, whichever comes first, or sooner where law requires.

Access. Only the provider and authorized staff handling a verification problem can access it.

Disclosure. We disclose biometric information only with your consent or where required by law or valid legal process.

3. Religious information and verification

Church affiliation and denomination reveal religious beliefs. We ask for separate, informed consent to their collection, use and profile display where required. The consent notice must identify purposes, viewers, retention and withdrawal. Consent to provide a verification document does not automatically authorise publishing its contents.
